Gulf Air to Add Starlink Mid-2026

Gulf Air has announced that it will introduce Starlink high-speed internet across its entire fleet starting from mid-2026. The service will be offered free of charge to passengers, providing uninterrupted connectivity from boarding until arrival, regardless of cabin class or ticket type.

The agreement was signed by Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer Martin Gauss and Starlink Aviation Global Head Nick Seitz at Awal Private Terminal. The signing ceremony was attended by Gulf Air Group Chairman Khalid Hussain Taqi, senior government officials, and aviation industry representatives.

With the introduction of Starlink, passengers will be able to stream content, work online, play games, and stay connected with family and colleagues throughout their journey. Gulf Air stated that the initiative reflects its focus on enhancing the overall passenger experience while supporting Bahrain’s broader digital transformation objectives.

Starlink, engineered by SpaceX, operates through a rapidly expanding low-Earth-orbit satellite constellation, delivering high-speed, low-latency internet connectivity. The system is designed to provide stable, real-time connectivity, benefiting both passengers and airline operations.

The first Gulf Air Airbus A320 equipped with Starlink technology is expected to enter service in mid-2026, followed by a phased installation across the airline’s fleet. The rollout underlines Gulf Air’s commitment to modernizing its operations and positioning Bahrain as a technology-driven aviation hub focused on passenger experience and operational efficiency.
